  • What is PiFinder?

    PiFinder is a powerful astronomy tool that helps you locate and identify celestial objects in the night sky. It combines a Raspberry Pi computer with a camera and GPS to provide real-time object identification and tracking.

  • When will you ship?

    The goal is 2 weeks, but demand is very spikey so it can take longer. You'll get an email when it's on the way. (except for PCB orders which are shipped via envelope). Working on building some ready-to-ship inventory!

  • Do I need any special equipment to use PiFinder?

    You'll need a telescope to use PiFinder effectively. The device attaches to your telescope and uses its camera to determine where you are pointing. Attaching the pifinder uses a vixen mount shoe (common finder interface) but the community has created adapters for other systems such as a Telrad.

  • How difficult is it to assemble the DIY kit?

    The DIY kit requires basic soldering skills and familiarity with Raspberry Pi. We provide detailed assembly instructions, and the soldering required is minimal. If you're not comfortable with DIY assembly, we recommend purchasing the pre-assembled version.

  • What's the difference between v2 and v3?

    PiFinder v3 features improved camera sensitivity for faster platesolves. The upgrade kit allows v2 owners to upgrade their existing device with the new camera module and necessary components.

  • What kind of support do you offer?

    We provide comprehensive support through our documentation, community forums (Discord), and direct email support.

  • What's your shipping policy?

    We ship to most EU countries.

  • Do you offer refunds?

    Yes, we offer a 30-day return policy for unopened and unused items. For defective items, we provide warranty support and will repair or replace the device as needed.
